Background
The Queens Chapter of Jack and Jill of America needed a refreshed website that reflected their prestige, legacy, and commitment to empowering African-American children and families. Their old website was difficult to navigate, visually outdated, and didn’t communicate the chapter’s mission effectively. The goal was to redesign the site with a clean, modern interface that honored the organization’s traditions while making it easier for members and the public to engage with events, programming, and donations.
Our Approach
1. Discovery & Content Planning
We began with a deep dive into the organization’s mission, member needs, and existing content. The chapter wanted to emphasize community outreach, chapter history, and event access while making everything easy to update internally.
2. Visual Direction & Branding
I refined their existing brand assets, introduced a fresh color palette rooted in their signature navy and pink, and used serif typography to reflect tradition and dignity. We kept the layout formal yet inviting, in line with their national organization.
3. UX Strategy & Information Architecture
Mapped out a simplified page structure focused on who they are, what they do, and how people can get involved. We also added dedicated sections for events, leadership, and contact forms for membership and partnership inquiries.
4. High-Fidelity Design & Framer Build
I designed the full site in Figma, then built it in Framer for a smooth, responsive experience. I integrated contact forms, optimized content layout for mobile, and ensured accessibility standards were met.
Results & Impact
The redesigned website provided the Queens Chapter with a polished, modern platform that better represented their values, legacy, and ongoing community work. From a UX perspective, the streamlined layout and mobile optimization significantly improved how members and visitors navigated the site resulting in more engagement with events and membership inquiries. At the same time, the refreshed visual language gave the chapter a renewed sense of pride and confidence in how they show up online. The project not only elevated their digital presence it helped build stronger connections with families, partners, and future members in a more intentional and accessible way.
