Background

Jocelyn Nicole is a lifestyle and portrait photographer based in Portland, Maine, who needed a professional website to present her work, attract new clients, and showcase her brand in a cohesive way. Her existing online presence lacked structure, personality, and functionality.
02

Our Approach

Blending organization with storytelling.

I began by working closely with Jocelyn to define her brand tone: soft, confident, and warm. Through collaborative mood boarding and style exploration, we locked in a minimalist, editorial feel that would complement her work without overshadowing it. Using Figma, I designed clean layouts with a focus on negative space and easy navigation. I enhanced her photography in Photoshop, and used Illustrator to craft subtle branding elements like her logo and iconography.

Key design principles included:

  • A tag-based system for efficient content organization.

  • AI-powered search functionality to retrieve relevant entries instantly.

  • Secure cloud storage with end-to-end encryption for privacy.

  • A storytelling mode for creating timeline-based visual narratives

03

Steps Taken

1. Discovery & Brand Exploration

We kicked things off with a 1:1 strategy session. Jocelyn shared her goals, ideal clients, and creative preferences. I created a moodboard with clean, editorial layouts and soft color palettes to match her tone.

2. Wireframes & Content Mapping

Mapped out a basic structure using low-fidelity wireframes in Figma prioritizing simplicity and storytelling. Focused on photo-forward layouts and smooth scrolling.

3. Visual Design

Refined the layout with typography pairings, generous white space, and minimal UI elements. Used Photoshop to enhance image quality and Illustrator to design custom branding elements like her logo.

4. Build & Optimization

Developed the site in Framer, with responsive breakpoints for mobile and tablet. Added subtle transitions, compressed assets for speed, and tested usability on multiple devices.

5. Handoff & Training

Delivered documentation and walked Jocelyn through updating her galleries and content so she could manage it ind
